Australian Champion Racencruiser Wombat
Leah was lay to rest at home in the nice warm morning sun on Tuesday 27th June 2017, aged 7 years,6 months & 1 day. She had been struggling to cope with spondylitis and had deteriorated rapidly over the last 6 months. She will always have a special place in our hearts. Never to be forgotten, she loved and was loved by all. RIP Leah.
Leah is such a lovely girl and enjoys nothing more than being with her family. She is a daddy's girl and will follow Jarrad everywhere. She will happily sit back and watch what you are doing but is not afraid to get her nose in to investigate further if the need (or temptation) arises. Leah has now retired from her show career, although she may come out to a couple every now and then, after all, she loves the social aspect. She is defiantly one social butterfly and loves to meet anyone where-ever she goes, even to the vet! She has such a stable temperament and is a very easy going girl.
She is a solid girl, inheriting good bone and lovely chin mark with that lovely bit of lip showing. She has a thick neck, broad shoulders, back and loins, she is fit and well muscled with a strong rear and quiet an athletic girl for her size. Leah has been fully health tested and passed, retained a low total hip score of 5 and elbow score 0:0. Hips would score OFA Fair. She has also been heart certified normal by echocardiogram and thyroid tested normal.
For the second year in a row Leah takes out Bitch CC & Best of Breed at the Western Classic (2013). She has produced 2 beautiful litter with our boy Tonka and you can see her daughters, Alice and Issy on their own pages. Leah will be mated late 2014 for her 3rd and final litter.
At the 2012 CFR End of Year Extravaganga Leah was awarded CC & Best of Breed under Mrs R Ralph (NSW). We decided due to weather to skip the last 2 shows of the year. Leah was awarded CC Bitch under NSW judge Mr Johnston at B&A Champ Show on 15/12/12. The following night she can home with Res. CC Bitch under Mr Lewington from SA. At the Western Classic 2012 she took out CC Bitch & Best of Breed at the first show under international judge Mrs D Janssen (Colombia) and then was awarded CC Bitch again the next day followed up by RUBOB under USA judge Mrs R Shoreman. She was ResCC at the 2011 Perth Royal Show under UK judge Mrs B Banbury and was CC Bitch/RUBOB at the 2010 Perth Royal under Mr Natividad.
Leah gained her title under local judge Mrs Gross-Richardson on 17/03/12 at the NSDC WA Champ Show.
Her first litter on 3rd September 2012 to our boy Tonka (Aus. CH. Chienparadis Briand) saw the birth of 9 beautiful babies, 5 girls and 4 boys. We retained 2 of the little girls, ALICE (T. Naughty Alice) and GABBY (T. Centre Stage).
Leah's second litter, also to our boy Tonka on 7th April 2013 saw the arrival of 7 babies (whelped naturally) 1 Boy and 5 Girls. All have found wonderful family homes.
Leah enjoyed coming out to the Utility Dog Clubs Memorial Show on the 14th September 2013. After a long 6 month break from the ring she placed 1st in the Open class and was awarded ResCC at the first show under Mr A Fry (Victoria). Leah again placed 1st in the Open class, and was also Best Open of Breed at the 2nd show under Mr L Wheeler (NSW). We are very proud of Jarrad and his (not so little) girl.
At the 2013 Perth Royal, Leah was awarded first in her State-Bred class. She was beaten by her daughter Alice for the Challenge and we are very pleased with how she handled herself. Leah loves the big shows. Big shows = lots of people = lots of love, pats and cuddles with the kiddies.
Leah's third, and final litter, sired by Moloscyg One Time Stan, saw the arrival of 3 babies by C-section, 2 boys and 1 little girl. This was our first frozen semen litter. Unfortunatley, we lost the little girl and a boy, but you can see Leah's surviving pup, BAILEY (T. Baileys on Ice (AI)) by clicking on his name.
Leah has now been desexed, retired from breeding, and will remain a much loved, and treasured family member.
