Introducing Oona, another from Amedange Kennel's Blue Moon Litter out of UK Import/Aust Ch Jervindi Shala. Oona joins us at 13 months of age, Cyclone Oona as her breeder Vicki affectionately calls her. Oona is Iiahs full litter sister and is so much like her in more ways than one. They do have their differences though, Oona is lower to the ground, solid and with nicer rear angulation and wrinkle. These sisters are the only 2 females in Australia from the Jerivindi lines, and we cant thank their breeder enough for entrusting them both to us.
Produced from a combination of lines that will never be repeated anywhere in the world. Shala being the last true Jerivindi bred female from their World Famous "J" litter offspring. Her father, Ike, is an Australian Bred dog with a full french pedigree. What an outstanding combination this is! We are very excited.
Oona is the mirror image of her mother at the same age and as she is growing we can see her grandma "Funny". Such a little spitfire, with personality to match, we have high hopes for Cyclone Oona.
Oona has been hip/elbow scored with a low total hip score of 8 (well below the current breed average of 17) and elbows 1:1. She was heart certified by Dr Neik Beijerink on 16/12/2016 with Normal Echocardiogram results. Oona is Clear for heart disease and murmers. She has also been DNA tested for the DM, CMR1 & HFH-B genes, and has Clear results for all.
Oona, having been shown occasionally, has hit the WA show scene with much enthusiasm. She handles very much like her sister, has beautiful fluid movement, and just goes, she loves to show off, she is a real pleasure.
Her first WA show at CSAWA Champ show on 8/10/2016, she was awarded 2nd Junior bitch. Then, having getting abit more comfortable, was awarded 1st Junior Bitch, BCC and then took out the Best Of Breed under judge Mrs C Currie at the CSAWA PM Champ Show. The FDC show the following day, Oona was 2nd Junior bitch.
The last October show, and the last of the day shows in WA for the year was the Champ show hosted by ABDC on 30/10/16. Oona was 1st Junior bitch, BCC and RUBOB (to our boy Ranger)
Finally the evening shows commenced in WA with the Hills Kennel Club double header weekend on November 12 & 13th. Oona was placed 2nd Junior Bitch class on the Saturday and was 1st Junior bitch, BCC and RUBOB on Sunday evening.
Oona was awarded 1st Junior bitch, BCC and Runner-Up BOB at the WAKC Champ show on 10/12/2016 under local judge Mr S Warry.
In just 3 months showing in WA, Oona finished the #4 DDB in WA on the DOL 2016 Breed Challenge Leaderboard.
At the 2017 Western Classic, on 3-4th March and under world known judge and breed enthusiast Senor Rafael Alcrudo from Spain, Oona was awarded BCC. Best of Breed, Best Intermediate in Group 6 & then BEST INTERMEDIATE IN SHOW!!! We are absolutely thrilled with her results, she handled herself incredibly well, moved like a dream and Alcrudo adored her and remarked on her fine and stable temperament. We will treasure this moment forever. This also gave Oona the last points towards her Australian Champion Title. Doing it in style!
The 2nd show for the 2017 Western Classic on 5-6th March, under New Zealand judge Mrs L Strongman, Oona placed 1st Intermediate bitch, and was then awarded Challenge Bitch & Best of Breed. She showed herself beautifully but no luck this time for in group.
Oona delivered her first litter (to T. Dozer) on April 27th 2018. An exceptional litter, we are excited to watch them develop over the coming years.
