AUSTRALIAN CHAMPION CHIENPARADIS BRIAND
***On Wednesday 16th July 2014 I received the devastating and heart shattering call from the vet that Tonka had passed away just half an hour after I had left the clinic. He had been battling a severe systemic infection and despite all the treatment he received by the vets, he slipped away. Never forgotten, his memory will remain with us until we meet again at the bridge***
Tonka is a very typical bordeaux, all male and very affectionate, often giving his paw a thousand times (literally) to get what he wants. He is very attached to me. Where ever I am you are sure to find him, usually sitting on me! He enjoys nothing more than to lounge around on the couch under the a/c or sit by the door and watch the world outside. But dont be fooled... Never leave anything out, because nothing is safe with Tonka around! To date he holds the record of 2 Nintendo DSi (which were in a cupboard), a TV remote, 2 pair's of shoe's, a few pairs of thongs, my car window winder (x2), countless toys and not to forget the retic and sprinklers, but I wouldn't change him for the world. I love his little antics and adore the way he greets me, with a soft toy firmly gripped in his mouth and a happy wagging tail and a smile, every-time I walk through the door and in that moment I forget all the troubles I may have had that day and share in his happiness. He and I share a special bond and that will never be broken.
A slow maturing dog, he is really coming into his own now at almost 3 years of age. He exhibits a lovely head with a deep stop, short muzzle and sufficient wrinkle. He is not overly large for a male and is finer boned than I would like, but he holds his proportions nicely and shows good width of chest.
At the 2013 Western Classic Tonka is awarded 2nd in Australian Breed class and then Reserve Dog Challenge.
Tonka takes out Reserve Dog Challenge & RUBOB at the 2012 IGA Perth Royal Show under international judge Mr O Valverde from Costa Rica.
The 2011 Perth Royal Show he was awarded Reserve Challenge Dog from the Junior Dog class under UK judge Mrs B Banbury.
He was also awarded Challenge Dog & Best of Breed against a good line-up of dogs at CSAWA Championship show on 23/06/12 by Mr Thompson from NSW.
Tonka is doing well in the Australian Bred Class and is awarded DCC and BOB again at the LKC Championship show on 08/09/12.
Tonka was awarded DCC & BOB at B&A Champ Show on 15/12/12 under judge Mr Johnston (NSW). He is then awarded Res. DCC & RUBOB at Xmas Benifits show on 16/12/12 under Mr Lewington from SA.
At the End of Year Extravaganza Tonka was awarded CC & RUBOB beaten by Leah under Mrs R Ralph (NSW). Due to the weather, the older dogs skipped the last 2 shows on the Sunday & Monday nights and spent their time relaxing at home.
Tonka gained his title at the LKC Championship Show on January 21st, 2012 under local judge Mrs D Wells.
Tonka sired his first litter with our girl Leah. 9 Puppies were born, 5 girls & 4 boys on 03/09/2012. We retained 2 of his daughters ALICE and GABBY.
Tonka's sired a second litter again with Leah. 1 Boy and 5 girls were born 07/04/2013. All found loving pet homes.
He is fully health tested and has a low total hip score of 7 (OFA Fair), and elbow score of 0:0. Also passing his heart certification (normal) and is also thyroid tested normal. Tonka is now desexed and retired from breeding. He is also retired from the show scene due to his distaste of the show ring. He will stay a much loved member of our family.
